TASTING NOTES
The 2005 Francis Tannahill Hermit Pinot Noir possesses great integrity and is the sum of Cheryl & Sam’s undiluted passion for Oregon Pinot Noir. The wine is dark in color; deep purple with flashes of darker red and blue. When the glass is swirled thoughts of stones, blackberries, red currents, raspberries, minerals and game all come to mind. More complex deeper aromatics of Asian spices, oak, tar and graphite all emerge to intertwine and add complexity to the more obvious initial fruit/mineral aromas. In the mouth the wine exhibits purity and focus, driven by firm ripe tannins and sweet fruit. Honest, long and balanced with a rustic wild side that reflects the wild nature of the vintage and its pure upbringing. It takes patience, but that patience will be well rewarded. 477 cases produced
